Success Story from the 2007 PAII Convention
"Thanks to Howard Helmer's demo at the fabulous PAII Convention
in Myrtle Beach, SC we are now serving WOW omelets to our guests
and they all rave about how wonderful these omelets are. If I can
cook an omelet anyone can. Thanks PAII."
~ John & Malinda Anderson, Maplevale Farm Bed and Breakfast,
Oxford, OH
Do you have a success story that is a result of something you learned
at the 2007 PAII Convention? Please send it to Jeanine@paii.org

Forum Digest:
Lap Desks, & More!
If you have not had time to log on to the
Forum located in the Members
Only section of www.paii.org,
here are some of the interesting topics that have been discussed
this past week.
Lap Desks
I always travel with my laptop computer, but understand that it's
not possible to have a desk in every guest room. The computer gets
very hot, so I usually end up putting it on a pillow on my lap-not
the most comfortable. Last weekend we attended a wedding and we
had to stay at a hotel since there were no B&B's nearby. Although
the room did have a desk, it also had a lap desk. I thought it would
be a great amenity for many guest rooms and might be worth personalizing
and selling.
RezOvation
We bought RezOvation years ago, when our other system was beyond
updating. RezOvation to the rescue with an ONLINE VIDEO tutorial.
I am not going to learn it in 5 minutes probably not in 50 minutes
but they are there holding my hand while I am learning. Congratulations
to Eric and Sandy and all the others who have tried so hard to get
this program accepted.
Interim Innkeeping
We are writing an article regarding interim innkeeping and would
appreciate knowing what you look for when hiring an interim innkeeper.
Mortgage, West Coast
Within the last year has anyone had any good/bad luck with refinancing
through any west coast lenders/brokers?
Inn Management Software for Mac
We will be opening our new B&B in a couple of months and I am
looking for inn management/reservation software. The inn will have
4 rooms.

Pointer:
Recycling Tips
Recycle as much paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, and aluminum as
possible. Recycling not only reduces waste in landfills, but also
reduces energy use. It generally takes much less energy to produce
new products from recycled materials than from raw materials. Also,
donate instead of discarding sheets and towels. Homeless shelters,
emergency family assistance agencies, and women's shelters will
make good use of gently used linens.
